Research overview
The climate crisis, the species extinction, and the exploitation of natural resources force us to re-shape the value-added chains in process industries. We have neither the time nor the necessity to wait for further fundamental breakthroughs in technology. The key technologies to master the change to a sustainable economy are no longer under development; they are on the table and ready for industrial rollout. The CTV group’s research focuses on bringing sustainable processes to practice. Fundamental research focuses on future process design methods and applications for post-transformation such as carbon removal to mitigate climate change. See our three research areas for details on our visions and current projects.
We are part of several TUM alliances and networks to enforce inter-disciplinary research:
- Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability
- Munich Institute of Integrated Materials, Energy and Process Engineering (MEP)
- Green Fuel Center
- Network Hydrogen & Power-To-X
- SynBiofoundry
