Maximilian Helbig joins the lab CTV Welcomes New Researcher

Maximilian will work in the field of Direct Air Capture, focusing on absorption processes with electrochemical sorbent regeneration.

CTV is pleased to welcome Maximilian Helbig, M. Sc. as the newest member. Maximilian joined the team on October 1 as a research assistant and doctoral candidate, where he will contribute to research in Direct Air Capture. His work focuses on absorption processes with electrochemical sorbent regeneration, advancing sustainable technologies for carbon dioxide removal.

Maximilian brings a strong interdisciplinary background, having studied mathematics and chemistry at the University of Regensburg, completing both his first and second state examinations in teaching. He went on to earn his Master of Science degree from the University of Bayreuth, specializing in environmental and green chemistry. His master’s thesis, conducted at the Fraunhofer IGB in Straubing, explored innovative approaches in sustainable chemical processes.

We are delighted to have Maximilian on board and look forward to his contributions to the laboratory and the field of sustainable process engineering.
