The Laboratory of Chemical Process Engineering congratulates Quirin Göttl on successfully defending his PhD with the highest distinction, summa cum laude. His thesis, titled “Automated Flowsheet Synthesis via Reinforcement Learning and Piece-wise Linear Thermodynamic Models,” provides a general framework for the application of reinforcement learning to the automated conceptual design of chemical process flowsheets.
